375th Anniversary Bonfire New Date: The Christmas tree bonfire has been postponed to Saturday, January 25 at 5:00 p.m. Bring the whole family to the Manchester Athletic Club tocelebrate this important milestone for MBTS. Regular and handicapped parking will be available onsite. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

MBTS Tax Abatement Filings Due February 1: This from Manchester’s Principal Assessor Ginny Thompson: the deadline for filing abatement applications is February 1, 2020. Notice is also indicated on the tax bills that have gone out to all homeowners. Any residents with questions about payment should contact the Treasurer/Collector’s office.

Proposals for Operating the Singing Beach Canteen: The town of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA is requesting proposals for the operation of the Singing Beach Canteen. The Request for Proposals is available from Parks and Recreation Director Cheryl Marshall at Town Hall. Bids must be submitted by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6.

Open Burning Season: Open burning season begins January 15 and ends May 1.No pressure-treated wood, construction material or old leaves allowed. A permit is required by the Manchester Fire Department and can be purchased for $10 online or in person.

Police Chief Office Hours: Chief Todd Fitzgerald will offer open office hours the third Thursday of each month (beginning Thursday, January 23) from 4–6 p.m.

Trash, Recycling, Compost: Pickup delayed by one day due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
