Manchester Memorial Elementary School's Kindergarten through Grade 3 received a special treat on Tuesday, January 15 when they welcomed popular children's author and illustrator Scott Magoon to share his creative process. The students were very enthusiastic about meeting the author and illustrator of such favorites as “Misunderstood Shark” and the newer “Linus the Little Yellow Pencil.” Magoon has illustrated over 20 books and has authored and illustrated five others. He shared his high-tech drawing process for the artwork of “Big Mean Mike,” drew "Misunderstood Shark" and read a story to each grade. MMES students were inspired by the visit, asking questions and some even beginning to write and illustrate their own stories. Scott Magoon autographed books for students and staff following his presentations.
