Gingerbread Houses and Cake Walk Fundraiser

Posted

Our annual fundraiser on December 6 was a great success! After many hours of preparation, donations and assembly-line precision, the Essex Elementary School community enjoyed a wonderful afternoon building gingerbread houses, winning cakes and goodies, and creating holiday cards! The EES teachers would like to thank the following businesses for their support: Hood Milk, Lisa and John Bartlett of Captain Dusty’s Ice Cream, Ipswich Clambake, Cape Ann Pizza and Essex Pizza. Our success is because of their great generosity. We’d also like to thank the many cake makers for sharing their time, craft and talent!

For more than thirty years the teachers of Essex Elementary have awarded academic achievement awards to alumni that are planning to go on to higher education. Our award is given out in the spring during the Lions Club’s Senior Recognition Night. This annual event is our main source of revenue, but we gratefully accept donations and can take checks made out to “MERSD” with Ramsden Award written on the memo line. Donations can be sent to Susan Hardy c/o Essex Elementary School, 12 Story St. Essex, MA 01929.

This event serves a greater purpose than just to boast our fund; it serves as a celebration of the strength of this community and the value it places on family and education. The infectious joy emanating from the cafeteria put us all in the holiday spirit. We wish everyone a happy holiday and a prosperous new year!
