Thank you for writing the beautiful "Goodbye David Andrews" in the Manchester Cricket a few weeks ago. Such a great tribute to a very special person and to his friend Bruce.
When I retired and moved from Upstate NY to Essex in 2013, the Swap Shop became one of my favorite places to stop by and meet so many interesting people, including dear old Bruce -- so talkative, and David -- so quiet. I attach a couple of pictures I took one of the last times I saw them.
Somehow, after a few years, Bruce finally gave me a break and understood that the old French professor needed to look through books and other treasures in peace and quiet. So, he would often pick another listener.
I was very sad when Bruce passed away, wondering what would happen to David. They are both better off now, and somehow, we are better for having known them, finally realizing that they really were very special in their own ways. Thank you for writing so well about both of them.
