3D Printing & Modeling

Posted

On Tuesday, February 18, from 1 - 4:30 p.m. local students joined together to learn about the fascinating world of 3D modeling. Led by ToysInBox staff, Jessica and Yong, the children were given a basic background of the technology and where it is going in the future. They were told that recently a 1000-square-foot house was 3D printed out of concrete in France in just 50 hours. Body parts, prosthetic devices, mechanical parts, and even food (maybe for use in space travel) are among the many items now constructed these ways.

After some instruction using a white board the kids went to work designing. Each one was able to design and take home three products of their making. These are 9-12-year-olds! The future is here in Essex.
