Essex Gearing Up for June 22 Elections

Posted

On June 22 Essex will be holding its election for town positions.  There are ten candidates total, but only one slot—filling the vacancy made by Selectman Andrew Spinney—is an actual race, in which Guy Bradford is running against Peter Hoare.  Next week, a virtual “meet the candidate” session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 that will offer the two candidates the opportunity to share why they’re running and what they hope to accomplish if elected.

Following that, The Cricket will publish a profile of both Hoare and Bradford, to share more information behind the signs placed in the lawns of supporters across Essex.

According to Essex Town Clerk Pamela Thorne, besides the BOS candidates, there is one other new candidate, Theresa Whitman who is running for School Committee.  All others are candidates for re-election.  Here are the candidates for all positions:

  • Guy Bradford running for the position of Member, Board of Selectmen
  • Peter Hoare running for the position of Member, Board of Selectmen
  • Jeff Jones running for the position of Moderator
  • Steve Poulos running for the position of Assessor
  • David Driscoll running for the position of Member, Board of Health
  • Rab Bradley running for the position of Constable
  • William Knovak running for the position of Constable
  • Theresa Whitman running for the position of Member, School Committee
  • Diane Kotch running for the position of Library
  • Lisa O'Donnell running for the position of Member, Planning Board
