Nine Manchester Boy Scouts will receive the Ad Altare Dei Award, the highest Catholic award in scouting at Holy Cross Cathedral in Boston, from Cardinal Umberto Medeiros. Jack Pitts, a former fighter pilot, spoke to students at Manchester Essex Middle/High School about his experiences during the Second World War. Mr. Pitts spoke to over a hundred high school students about his experiences as a P-47 “Thunderbolt” pilot in Europe.
