115 Years Ago – 1906
Business was suspended in this town on the Fourth. Bells were rung at sunrise, noon and sunset; flags were flying in all parts of the town. No public celebration was on the program. Fireworks were set off in various part of the town. There was a large number from out of town at home.
90 Years Ago – 1931
Quite a bit of marsh ditching has been done by the Mosquito Control commission and it is hoped that it will aid materially in reducing the nuisance.
