The common crow is not the only species of crow found in Massachusetts. The slightly smaller fish crow is an uncommon, but regular resident found along the coast and inland along major rivers. This fish crow was perched in a tangle near the Bashara Boathouse along the Merrimack River in Lawrence. (Courtesy of Craig Gibson)
We tend not to see crows. Perhaps because of their ubiquity. Perhaps because we find them ordinary. But this is a grave mistake. Crows are all around us.
